I've had quite a few kiddo's ask how to make jpegs and manipulate the
size so they'll fit across the top of their blog and act as a header.
While I use Image composer, which is an archaic program, (if it aint
broke, don't fix it :-) I don't know what everyone has at home. I'd love
for all the kiddo's to learn Photoshop, but that takes money.
And so when I ran across this little jewel of a freebie I had to share! It's called pixlr.com.
It has similar features to Photoshop, and I'd love for the kiddo's to
play! Now, you do have to sign up, which basically involves giving them
your email and creating a password, but once that's taken care of you
can create, layer, and put words on any picture you'd like. Too, some of
the tools (such as the lasso, the wand, etc) are the same as Photoshop,
so learn this first and when we get to that stage it'll be a breeze!
Now I'm learning this one with you, so I'm no expert. But if you have a
questions feel free to post one and I'll see if I can't find the answer.
As always, go play, have fun, be fearless, and learn something new!

Zane's Story
There was a little boy named Zane. He was 8 year’s old. He was black and had curly hair and slim legs. He went to Tennessee for vacation with his mother and his father. When he got to Tennessee he went fishing, swimming, and he had lots of fun. Walking back home, he couldn’t believe how many fish he had in his basket. He caught so many fish that he almost lost count!
“Wow!” his mom said. “You sure did catch a lot of fish.”
“I sure did.” Zane smiled.
“How did you catch so many without bait?”
“I used chicken as bait.” Zane chuckled. “Yep my famous chicken!”

My Broken Leg
One day when I was about 5 years old my mom got a new bike. Mom was pedaling, and I was riding behind her. We were riding to her friend’s house. Then my leg got stuck in the wheel. I yelled out three times because my leg was turning violet. It felt bad. I was injured bad. My mom took me to the hospital. They gave me a shot so I wouldn’t feel the pain. I fell asleep crying. When I woke up they did an x-ray. I had to have crutches. I couldn’t walk on my leg because it was broken. Even though that was a long time ago, my leg still hurts sometimes. I still have a scar.

My Dream Birthday
My dream birthday would have the school turned into a video game arcade and an all you can eat pizza buffet. I will invite all my friends too. We would leave at 9:00PM. Everybody would spend the night at the world’s biggest Jell-O house. It will be 100 feet tall and will have tons of space inside. There will be 2 separate rooms. One will have cake and ice cream, and the other room will have a huge fridge with soda and pizza inside. We will party all night by watching movies. First we will watch Oz The Great And Powerful. Next we will watch The Croods. Finally, we will watch Escape from Planet Earth.

Dad Coming Home Early!
When my dad came home early I screamed, DAD!!” We missed each
other.
My
dad is in the Navy. He
went to set traps for guys overseas. He was gone for
almost a year. While my dad was gone my mom, brother, sister,
and I played games like “Hiss”. We went to school and work. We missed my dad but we had to carry on.
We talked to dad sometimes on the computer and the phone, but it wasn’t
the same. We looked at pictures of dad on our
Kindles.
One day we talked to dad and he said he would
be home soon. I didn’t know exactly when that would be. Then one day, we pulled in the driveway from school. My mom hit the button and the garage door came up. I was so excited to see my dad standing in the garage! I dropped my school things in the house and ran
out to give him a huge hug. I was so happy to have my dad home!

My Baby Brother
When I was seven years old my mom had a baby. I went to stay with a friend from my swim team while mom was in the hospital. My dad came and picked me up. We went to the hospital to visit my mom. When we got to the room there was a cake. My mom was holding the baby. It was a baby boy they named Eli. He was sleeping. He had a soft spot on his head. You could see veins through his skin. I touched his head and he felt so soft.
A couple days later mom and Eli came home from the hospital. I liked having a baby in the house. He couldn’t do much. Now that he is a little older he kicks me, tattles on me, and bites me. Sometimes I wish he was a cute tiny baby again!

Hot Dog and a Hot Dog!
One hot summer day I woke up. I
was so excited! I got dressed and wanted to run downstairs but I couldn`t until
my parents got up! Finally they woke up. I was telling you about this because…
I WAS TURNING 7!!! It was my birthday, July 2nd..
Anyway, I was already
downstairs opening a present. It was a tennis game! My mom said she was making
chocolate pancakes. WOW! Then I opened a
LPS (littlest pet shop) hospital. I wanted that so bad! I also got a UK head band. I tried it on and it looked good with my pink
shirt and jean skirt. Later my mom
served the pancakes and they were delicious! Yum! After that I got to go to build a- Bear!! I got a wiener dog, put him in hot dog costume
and named him Hotdog. Then we went to the pool. We were there for about an hour
and then we went home. My dad asked me if I wanted hotdogs or hamburgers for
lunch. I immediately answered, “HAMBURGERS!!!!!” My dad looked to see if we had any and he said,
“Sorry, we don`t have any.” My dad went in the backyard and came in with a
long hotdog with candles! I was so
confused. He gave me a piece and I
realized it was cake…chocolate cake that looked like a hot dog. I
loved my birthday so much! At night I got in bed and fell asleep. I felt so happy.

The Scar
I was jumping on my mom’s bed, having the best time. Suddenly, I fell. My face hit the corner of a picture frame. It stung so badly and I could see blood. I started to cry and wail.
Finally, I was at the hospital. I started to cry again. Mom took my hand and held it. The doctor stitched up my lip. My mouth was sore.
We were finally done. On the way out of the hospital mom saw a big case of cookies. She bought a lion-shaped sugar cookie and we split it on the way home. It cheered me up a little, but I still have a scar under my lip.
